Last Night
Sorry I played the longest show ever - someone needs to stop me or I’ll just drone on and on all night.
Anyway, it was great to see all y’all and just so you know we are about to announce another run of shows from the middle of Oct. into Nov. that will include NYC and other fancy places.
It so damn hot, milk was a bad choice.

Are you kidding??? We would have loved to have had you play all night!!! The show was amazing — the new songs really blew me away — plus some old favorites (always happy to hear anything!). The set was surperb — personal highlights include hearing Hey Casanova, the Moon song & Home (wow), Gerry’s “psychedelic” dance grooves, the dueling “bass” solos (with accompanying heavy metal “pantomime” drum solo, of course). You guys rock. Can’t wait for the next shows!

I hope you’ll be in Philly too, but NYC is close enough to get to. It’s way to hot, I can’t wait til fall!

Please come back to Indy or even Columbus OH!! :)

I wish I could’ve been there. Duncan, I cannot get enough of quotes from Mr. Burgandy. My personal favorite: “I wanna be on you. I wanna be on you!”
August 13th, 2005 at 6:14 pm
Dang I wanted to be there! Sounds like a good time was had by all. I really like shows at the Downtown.
I’m so looking forward to those October/November dates and hoping you come somewhere near Albany. Then again, a weekend in the city wouldn’t be so bad either.
And milk on a day like today sounds absolutely disgusting. Wow. What were you thinking?

p.s. Is the milk thing a quote from something?

I want to say only one thing … for now…
Minnesota. :)

AAAAAAAH!(Beatle scream) I’ve been waiting for a NYC date before planning a much-needed trip. Thanks so much for all the hard work. It’s damn hot here, too-but this is cool news.

I wish I could have been there to hear it all. I hope you play long sets when your in Cali. See you soon!
70% of the time… it works all the time. And that’s a scientific fact!
August 13th, 2005 at 7:51 pm
Grosssss I hope it was ice cold milk at least, lol.
NYC! Yippee I am so there. I would skip class for you, man. Actually no I can’t because I think I’ve learned my lesson from skipping half a semester of math (no I haven’t, yes I have….). Well I’ll try my hardest!

Wowww, more shows!!! That’s great news D.
Green Iced Tea would have been a better choice.
love. :) Today is an absolute Killer!!!! Even my air conditioner cannot keep up. It’s been running non-stop all day and is hardly even cool. I think it may need some freon again. Yikes…..but this weather is not fit for Beast or Man/Woman… :) Stay cool…and well hydrated please!!!!

Hah! “It so damn hot, milk was a bad choice.” is a qoute from Anchorman! :-D Loved that movie!
I hope you treat us that well when you come to SoCal! My friends and I will be at both the Coach House and at Jon Anson Ford. Can’t wait!

“Does that include Texas?!?” says the overzealous fan. “Austin is a fancy place.”
August 13th, 2005 at 9:10 pm
Just missed ya in INDY…anychance you will be around knoxville when you hit nashville?
August 14th, 2005 at 4:19 am
I second Austin. It’s quite fancy. Too fancy for some to get into the SXSW show I might add.
August 14th, 2005 at 10:05 am
I also agree that Philadelphia is super-fancy. I got to see you play at The Point when doug was with you, but now I wanna see the whole band! We’re a measely 2 hours south of NYC, please fit us in!

Great to hear that there will be more shows this Fall.
My vote is for you to add shows in Philadelphia or the like… consider Manayunk, PA (a 30 something jive right outside of Philly) or how about the Main Line PA suburbs… now that is fancy. Where ever you choose, count me in!!
Looking forward.

In the Fall the weather down here in Houston is perfect, not too cold and not too warm …just right! You could swing over this way after you go see Platumbabe in Austin…lol.
August 14th, 2005 at 9:17 pm
i think the highlight for me was the cover of Fake Plastic Trees.. that was incredible !!!! one of my favorite songs EVER and Duncan did it better than the original.
..and how about Duncan forgetting the words to She Runs Away and the audience taking over for him.
well worth the $85 cab ride i had to take after missing my train home !!
August 14th, 2005 at 11:02 pm
well hell duncan…….the next time you play in GR, michigan -> PLEASE PLAY ALL NIGHT…
good luck on the rest of your tour.
i am digging that new ep.
August 15th, 2005 at 1:07 am
Thank you for adding an Anchorman quote. I needed the laugh.
August 15th, 2005 at 12:46 pm
ANCHORMAN!!
I think I can speak for everyone here when I say you should never apologize for playing “too long”. I apologize for continually missing your shows, even when they’re so closeby….
August 15th, 2005 at 1:15 pm
I Second Kandi’s request…Minnesota. “I have many leather bound books, and my house smells of rich mahagony”
August 15th, 2005 at 2:43 pm
I Third Kandi’s request for an MN show……we can be pretty ‘fancy’ when we want to be and we welcome performances of great lengths….and the weather will also be perfect at that time of year for ‘milk’ : ) Every reason you need right?
August 15th, 2005 at 4:06 pm
hey, the message board lives! Duncan doesn’t know it, but he’s sang me to sleep at least once every 2 weeks since a fateful night in late August back in the early 90s at a hole in the wall venue called the Cotton Club in Atlanta,GA…and I see you’re coming back. Why always August? Atlanta is much nicer in other seasons. Right now I’m afraid all we can offer you is air so thick with moisture you could cut it with a spork, thunderstorms that, if you’ve no lover to love during them, are just plain annoying because they ruined your tennis game, and the cheapest gas in the country. For now, I’ll keep a Red Brick Ale chilled and waiting for you at Smith’s Olde Bar on the 30th.
August 18th, 2005 at 8:23 am
If you come back to Florida, you can play as long as you want. I’m sure we, speaking collectively for Florida, wouldn’t mind..
August 18th, 2005 at 5:21 pm
I don’t think us Duncan fans would mind if you played all night. Hell I play your cd’s all the time at work. I do listen to other music as well (OMG there’s other music???) but for the most part I listen to your cd’s on repeat. They help me so much. So feel free to play all night long in San Diego! I’ll stay around.

Well gosh! Where do I start?
August 12th at the DOWNTOWN was the first time my husband and I ever heard / saw you play live. It was amazing. I do not expect you would remember me, as you have so many devoted fans….We did get to meet you, as you signed my GUITAR. It was a dream come tue for me. In my excitement, I did not have the chance to tell you that you are and have been my inspiration for playing the guitar. THANK YOU so much for signing it. It meant the world to me.
I thought the show was wonderful, and like your fans have stated, we could have watched you play ALL night long. It was your longest show? Glad we had the honor of seeing it.
Also, I am not sure who that was, there was some lady that brought my guitar to you to have it signed. She had short black hair. I am not sure if she was travelling with you… but whatever the case was.. Thank you to her as well. It was a very nice thing to do.
You and your band were terrific, completely awesome! :-) Thanks again…. Shelli
