E.P.

Just to reiterate and avoid confusion: the first four songs on the E.P. will be on the full release, and the last three songs are b-sides. The main reason I have it at the shows is that I feel bad that the full release isn’t out yet and I wanted to have something for you guys to listen to. There will be an announcement about White Limousine, its new home (label-wise) and its expected street date fairly soon.

See you in Chicago tonight, I hope …

Thanks for the show last night (Indy) and the meet and greet afterwards. Also thanks for rushing to make the EP available. I’m liking it much.

I’m going to be checking out more of Adam’s work-nice and talented guy! Thanks for bringing him.

Hey, we enjoyed the show last night. On behalf of Ohio, my wife and I would like to offer an apology for the less than receptive members of the crowd (as well as the over zealous one!). We’ll catch you in October back in NY. Enjoy the road trip.

  5. idratherbwriting Says:

Yeah, I wasn’t going to bring up the subject of the crowd last night; but I felt really awkward about it. Friday night is a very social “find-a-mate” night in Broad Ripple and I think that mentality oozed into The Patio last evening.

    Please come back anyway!

Just discovered you through iTunes and have been listening to a lot of Phantom Moon while on a road trip to the mountains of New Hampshire. My eight-year old daughter loves the Winds that Blow (I think she is destined to be a performance artist of some kind herself). Question: I love the instrumentation on Requiescat — what are the instruments? As best as my rather flawed ear can tell, it sounds like a sitar, some kind of bell and a wind instrument (maybe an accordion???). If you wanted me to feel like I was standing in the middle of a Himalayan village, early to mid-morning, sun beating down, you totally nailed it. It helped that I was listening to it in the mountains! Anyway, loved the album and am looking forward to more. Am also spreading the word here in Ottawa.

  7. Rena316 Says:

    Duncan, you rocked in Chicago!
Thanks for the autograph and hug. :)
As always, I was enchanted by your lyrics and presence.
I’m excited about the new album, and will definitely be at the October show.

    Until Then….

  8. Tansy Says:

Good to know you love lamp.
    “Loud noises!!!!!” (nice reference btw)

Thank you so so so very much for playing Halsted.
It’s been way too long since I last saw you live.
All four of you were fabulous! Send them all my thank you’s too!

Also, thank you for signing everything, you really didn’t have to.
(it would’ve been oober okay for me just to say “hi”) And as far as the lack of Phantom on set list… Just play “Sad Steven” when you come back in the October. We’ll call it even.

Again thank you so much for the pitstop,
be safe, and eat lots of yummy Egg McMuffins
    (despite Super Size Me).

    Keep it fuzzy!

    PS: The EP is beautiful.
Thank you again for playing Chi-town!

Last night was great Duncan. I don’t think I’ve seen you play with a full band since 1998. The show was great. All you guys did a great job. I must say I really loved the whole ‘Anchorman’ thing that Doug started. I love Lamp too.

The EP is great. I cannot wait for the LP. Your 6 B-Sides are better than some artisits entire album. ‘The Aftermath’ is definitely one of my new Duncan favorites. The piano is great.

I also want to thank Gerry and Jeff for signing my stuff and taking pictures with me. (I didn’t have a chance to meet Doug. I couldn’t find him!) It’s great to know that you always surround yourself with really down to earth people. I hope you can come to Milwaukee during your tour. If not, I’ll definitely be going back to Chicago.

    Drive well and sleep carefully.

    Josh

thanks for hangin out with your fans after too, my friend was so suprised that you were willing to take pictures with us.
hopefully I’ll see you in Portland, OR when I’m over there, if not see you in october!
    thanks again!

  12. Zarger22 Says:

Is there any way of knowing what is a full band show or not, some venues will not state…

Specifically, the Birchmere in Alexandria VA. Last time I saw him there it was about 5 years ago and it was an accoustic show….

    Thanks.

  13. Tansy Says:

As I was indulging in my geekiness (aka looking through photos from last night), I noticed a picture of the set list… More specifically the words “Reel Around the Fountain.” And yet… there was no cover.

I can’t tell you how devastated I felt, when I saw this.
(hint: the sinking heart, choked-up kind)

So after some thought, I’m ready to bargain.
If it’s exotic foods, books by ancient theologians, wines from afar?g whatever. You name it, I’ll find a way. Just please, please, please, PLEASE play “Reel Around the Fountain” at the October show?

I?m sure I?m not the only one who?d love to see Morrissey and Carrack?s love-child slip out of your lips.

    Thank you.
    Be safe.

great show last night in grand rapids. but COME’ON 3 covers????? you have 5 albums worth of material. little disappointed……

  15. Kristy Says:

Duncan, your show last night was beautiful. I’d never heard you live, and your voice, intensity and overall sound just blew me away (your band is awesome!) I can’t say that I agree with the commenter above. Everyone’s entitled to his own opinion, and mine doesn’t really matter, either, but I think you should play whatever the hell you feel like playing. It all sounded good-no disappointment here.

(Except for the lack of jazz flute…ha ha ha.Yeah Anchorman! I quote it all the time, even when it really makes no sense)
    :-)

And oh, thanks for signing the EP! I love it. I still owe you a dollar for it… ;) Have a safe tour and rock on!

  16. garonky Says:

Duncan, the show was ‘munny’ Thanks for taking the time out to say hi to your fans, sign autographs and take pictures. I just wish you would’ve played ‘Home’ Ah well. Great show anyway. Can’t wait for the LP to come out.

Oh, the EP is fantastic BTW. Keep rockin in the free world…or something like that.

    Peace

Duncan, I’m very glad you are sharing you music with us.

I live in Pittsburgh and you have been here a few times in the past. I have been very unlucky with getting tickets to your show for over 3 years. Either tickets sold out, or I was still a poor student in College and couldn?t make it. You recently came back to Pittsburgh on August 3rd. I made sure I wouldn?t miss you again. I did make it and it I couldn?t believe I finally saw you play live! I was so happy I sang along every song I knew of yours and was very happy when you signaled the crowed to sing along. Unfortunately, one of the guests rudely turned to me and said “Why do you think this man sings?” I was confused and answered, why? His reply was “So we don?t have to listen to you!” Talk about having your heart stomped on. I was just enjoying myself with excitement. I did reply with respect “I’m sorry.” But that person didn’t have to be so rude. Sorry if I offend people that don’t like sing along.

Anyways, nothing could ruin the excitement I had listening to your live music. I’m looking forward to your new CD.

I was just thinking D..you know, after all of these years…I don’t understand Now, why honestly you have to defend yourself and your Music. I’m sure, you felt like throwing up when you read that. Just like me and everynody else who has any taste or brains around here.

You are the Artist. Things constantly change, and we know it Swings Boths was—Has Too…Always…so hey, he just caught you on the downslide maybe…meaning at a time when your Music is slowed down….more moody, more deep, more smooth, more cool, very sharp and sexy….Very tight and intimate. Maybe this Fan…doesn’t appreciate Real Art? But for you to waste any energy over this….should not last more than a few seconds. You are moving so fast in the correct place right now…nothing can stop you. Not even yourself. So cool…..I’m with it. I’m always with you, Michele :)

  28. blackwuzzy Says:

    That was “Everybody” and “ways”

Still, yet…an Edit Button we so need. :)

I’m Out for a long Walk…. Peace, bw

Thank You for playing Chicago this past weekend. Can’t wait to see you again in the fall. The White Limo EP is amazing. I appreciate you giving us a chance to hear the music.
I was one of the audience members glued to the front of the stage Saturday and just when I thought there couldn’t be anything better in the world……you played “Wonderwall” and it blew all of us away. Spectacular, Spectacular! You totally rock Duncan.
Thanks again for such a great evening. Please get plenty of rest and travel safely with the remaining gigs.
